The Cadets’ Decalogue

The students and cadets then sang the anthem of the academy and recited the 1st article of the Cadets’ Decalogue, before the entire patio was moved to the street in front of the academy for a quick parade in a straight line that marked the end of the formal part of the day for all cadets and students. The Cadets’ Decalogue (English version)

English translation. The Spanish version is below.
  1. To have a deep love for the nation and loyalty to the King, which must be demonstrated in all aspects of life.
  2. To have a profound Esprit de Corps, reflected in the cadet's vocation and discipline.
  3. To combine a high sense of chivalry with the constant desire to maintain the utmost good reputation.
  4. To be diligent and efficient in the discharge of your duties and responsibilities.
  5. Never spread rumors nor tolerate those who do.
  6. To endear yourself to your subordinates and be esteemed by your superiors.
  7. Sacrifice yourself, always seeking and desiring the opportunity to be of service even in the most dangerous and tiring situations.
  8. To have a sense of comradeship, making sacrifices for your peers. displaying satisfaction for their progress and accomplishments.
  9. To have a love of responsibility and the determination to face difficulties.
  10. To be courageous and provide selfless service.
